The painting depicts mirroring as an act of extreme intimacy and a loss of boundaries. It is a state in which mirroring becomes both an act of love and a subtle violence: we lose ourselves to become a reflection of another person, and at the same time, we find ourselves in that reflection. The title refers to the psychological mechanism of mirroring - the process by which we unconsciously imitate the emotions, gestures, and states of another person. In the painting, this mechanism is taken to its extreme: it becomes complete immersion in another person. This is simultaneously the most beautiful and most dangerous form of intimacy, a mirror in which one can lose oneself forever.
Obraz przedstawia odzwierciedlanie jako akt skrajnej intymności i utraty granic. Jest to stan, w którym odzwierciedlanie staje się zarówno aktem miłości, jak i subtelnej przemocy: tracimy siebie, by stać się odbiciem drugiej osoby, i jednocześnie odnajdujemy siebie w tym odbiciu. Tytuł odwołuje się do psychologicznego mechanizmu mirroring (odzwierciedlania) - procesu, w którym nieświadomie naśladujemy emocje, gesty i stany drugiej osoby. W obrazie mechanizm ten jest doprowadzony do ekstremum: staje się całkowitym zatopieniem się w drugim człowieku. To jednocześnie najpiękniejsza i najniebezpieczniejsza forma bliskości -lustro, w którym można się zgubić na zawsze. |
